Maddison May 2008 "Dance Recital"

Last night was a proud night for the family of Maddison Wood. It was her last Dance recital for this dance year! She did amazing :) Her little dances were adorable! I do have video of them so they will follow this post, so everyone can enjoy them as we did. This is Maddison's 2nd year with Desert Edge Dance Company,she absolutely loves to dance! She has come along way from her first year. Maddison is no longer shy, she is such a little performer! All her dance teachers and dance director are amazed with her outgoing personality, how focus she is, how well she picks up and listens, very photogenic. The Senior dance troupes asked Maddison to greet everyone at the begining of the recital, they asked her what a performer does and what an audience does - Maddison was so cute with her reponses into the microphone! I was honored that they chose my little Maddi to go up there with them :)

Below are the flowers she received from her Dance Company, Mitch me and Kassidee, and my parents (Ken & Debby). They are beautiful huh!! Maddison was so excited to get them :)

I look forward to seeing her next year and all the new dances she learns, they also get new costumes this coming year! Maddison said she is VERY excited to see the new ones too.

Gifts for "ME"

What a keepsake moment for me, these gifts are priceless! I had the opportunity to open these wonderful gifts from my girls for Mothers Day. All I could do was cry happy tears.... I couldn't ask for anything more :) I am so honored and blessed to be the mother of my two beautiful girls. They give me so much joy and happiness. I remember the first day they were born, the little miracles they were, the natural mother instinct to love my child, nuture them, teach them right from wrong, to protect. I have had a fun ride so far, Kassidee 7 Maddison 4 soon to be another year older come July. Being a mother has made me become a better women. I have accomplished so much in my family! A mother has a so many fun jobs and hard ones too, and I have enjoyed them all. I look forward to many more years to come.

My STAR of the WEEK :)

Maddison got to be the "star of the week" at her pre-school. She had a ton of fun! We took treats in all week for her to pass out to her class mates. She got to be first in line and first helper. This is such a wonderful opportunity for the kids to feel special and boost their self esteem and become very independent. Maddison has come such a long way from 3 years old. She has attended Watch Me Grow Preschool now for 2 years, and is getting ready for the BIG kindergarten. I am so proud of her and how much she has learned. I love Mrs Julie and Grandma Smith. They have such great academic structure and a outline of their preschool. Maddison knows all the standard shapes and more, she knows her ABC's and can say them fast, she can write her entire name, she knows all the standard colors and more, she counts to 38 without skipping a number, recognizes numbers 1-100 all knows all the upper and lower case letters. Her teacher is amazed at how far she has come. She responds very well, we also had an evaluation for Kindergarten and the teacher was WOW, she is way ahead of schedule :) I do have to THANK Kassidee too, she has been such a huge inspiration to her little sister.

What a great opportunity!

My little Kassidee had a great time with her "VIP" day. She got to make this wonderful poster all about her... She had a hard time picking the pictures out because there were SO many! (Thanks alot to her mother that is a photo freak).... But she did a fantastic job! Kassidee wrote all about the pictures and her favorite things to do, swimming, dancing, wants to be an artist, loves to fly kites, loves to hang with her sister and family! She also got to take her favorite things and show them to her entire class. The poster will hang in her class all week, which Kassidee was very proud. Mitch and I are so honored to be her parents, she has such a kind heart and loves everyone! She is very smart and cares so much about her work...

Kassidee, you are a VIP in my book :) Good job!

Our trip to Vegas!

Mitch and I decided to spend the weekend in Vegas for our 11 year anniversary! What a BLAST that was - We bought a package deal and went to a comedy show "Gordy Brown" and dinner was included. Gordy Brown was hilarious, I laughed so hard! We were VIP on the front row and got picked on with some humor, it was all in fun! We chose Hawaiian Tropic, it was delightful. It was a 5 star fine dining, great experience! The appetizer we chose was Market Salad warm bacon, walnuts, pears, tomato, goat cheese & walnut vinaigrette, my entree was Roasted Organic Chicken Breast whipped potatoes, roasted baby vegetables and Mitch had Pan Seared Salmon creamy polenta, wild mushroom ragout.. The dessert was HEAVAN, we had the Warm Flourless Chocolate Souffle Cake pistachio ice cream, strawberries with a soulette cookie shaped as a women! We didn't want to drink after this dessert to ruin our tastebuds... LOL

We shopped at lots of fun stores! Checked out some new sites that we haven't seen in Vegas! We decided not to get into any cabs that we would walk the entire weekend! And we did :) It was so relaxing though, we stopped in to Casino's and other stores but most importantly had great conversations along the way! We hung out and 2 or 3 different lounge bar and grilles. Met some fun people! We did hang out and the pool, but the wind blew really hard so to to get into the pool was freezing cold, I decided not - that it would be no fun.... So we did more shopping :) Can't go wrong with that! It was a wonderful weekend, I am so glad we got to spend it together!

I am honored to be Mitch's wife, I look forward to many more years :)
