Valentine's 2010......

I love you all through February,
Not just on Valentine’s Day;
I cherish you when flowers of spring
Appear in the midst of May.
I adore you in the summer,
When the air is filled with heat;
Without you in my life each day,
I wouldn’t be complete.
I treasure you in fall,
When leaves are turning gold;
I loved you when you were younger;
I’ll love you when you’re old.
I prize you in the winter,
When colder days are here;
I love you, love you all the time,
Every minute of the year.
So I’ll give to you this Valentine,
But I want to let you know,
It’s not just today, but always,
That I will love you so.
On Valentine’s Day,
I’m thinking special ways
you have made my life better,
the little things, the not-so-little things...
your kindness, the way you always listen
and pay attention to me.
You make my world
brighter and richer.
You’re a gift to me,
and I thank you
for being you.

Maddison's projects................

Maddison's class is celebrating 100 days of school. All their activities this week will be centered around the number 100. Their project was to collect exactly 100 things. These "things" can be buttons, paper clips, lagos, bottle caps, pennies, stickers, noodles, straws etc etc etc... Maddison arranged her collage of her 100 things all by herself. I helped her with the hot glue gun, we had allot of fun creating this poster!
On top of the 100 day project, Maddison has receieved 100% on her addition numbers 1,2 and 3 so far. These are timed tests :) Maddison has been practicing her flash cards every day for the past 5 weeks! She is doing a "AWESOME" job, and all her practice is paying off I told her :) She is getting ready to do her 4,5,6 and 7's. We've been working really hard to accomplish those! Maddison loves to practice and learn every day! She is also reading above grade level. She takes her time and comprehends amazingly! She loves to tell me all about the stories and I love to listen.......

Maddison also got 100% on her spelling words below, this is not the first test she's received 100%. This was just the week of the 100 day celebration! She's received 100% on all her spelling tests given so far! She does sort activities and sentences every night to study! The dedication that Maddison has doing her homework is phenominal. Amazes me everyday what Maddison does and wants to do!
Mitch and I are so proud of Maddison and her accomplishments. Maddison is such a joy! Always willing to give and help out. She loves to learn and do fun projects! Maddison has such a sweet personality, makes friends very easy. I love listening and watching her grow! I can't believe my baby is almost 7 years old. Just growing too fast, but enjoying every minute! We love you Maddison and so blessed to be your mommy!

Kassidee's projects................

Kassidee's school has a Soaring Eagle Award program, which I think each school provides for students to achieve. The purpose is to provide extended education and personal learning opportunities in areas of academic and special interests. It's also to improve students written communication skills. They are required to complete 15 out of the 20 choices. This is to be completed by the end of the year.

I wanted to post a few projects that Kassidee has been working on for this award at School. The first one is a science "Crystal formula" project. Her and Mitch had a good time doing this together. She got to take it back to school today to show everyone!

The second one is Technology, she created a story/poem on the computer. Included a title page and illustrations. She'll be able to show the project to her class :) Kassidee loves Art which many of you know. She also loves to write stories so this was a really fun project for her!

A couple other projects that she has done were career day, and extracurricular activties (service project). She is in the process of writing about those experiences! We are currently working on others to complete by the end of the year.

Kassidee is also doing some spelling activities! She is such a fabulous speller. Kassidee would love to be in a "Spelling B", so we are looking into that for her! I told her she could get a scholorship for spelling B's and that would be a great accomplishment. Kassidee is super excited to check into it. We'll keep you posted on that :)

Mitch and I are super proud of Kassidee, she is so smart and has such a lovable personality! She loves doing all these fun activities and does them with her own style! She is maturing into a young lady and growing to fast for me! So independent, kind, caring, and many more qualities that will stick with her forever.. I love you Kassidee, so honored to be your Mom!

..... Sassy St George Girls!

I got a phone call from Maile that some friends were coming up north for some work training!They invited me to come have dinner and drinks downtown. I've not seen them since we've moved back from St George so it was very nice to see them and hang out.... We laughed and laughed, and had such a wonderful time catching up! I sure do miss these wonderful ladies!

Girls havin some fun............

Took the girls on a date..... Mitch and I have been working allot of hours to save money and so we've not been able to spend allot of quality time together, with homework, school projects, reading assignments, bathing, etc it's been really busy for all of us... So a couple of Sunday's ago we went to the Mall, walked around and did some window shopping! Girls love to go to the mall and look at the cool stuff, they also LOVE to play on one of their playgrounds as you an see above! They have a really cool store that sells the DELSOL products which change colors in the sun or neon lighting - they were giving free rings away, which the girls got 2 because the salemen said they were super duper cute! He also gave us a really great deal on some fingernail polish and hair clips! The Godvia chocolate was giving free samples that day so the girls made out with free chocolate too :) Had some lunch and talked and talked about school, summer, friends, goals for this year, birthday's coming up and lots of other stuff. It was an awesome day! I love Kassidee and Maddison with all my heart and I am one lucky mom to have such amazing girls.... I am definitely blessed :)

Ryan "Happy New Year"

I went to visit my brother Ryan on New Years! It was a good day...
The loss of a loved one can be very tragic. Even supporting someone who has lost someone close in passing can be very difficult. Death is not an easy subject for anyone. Often your emotions are so stirred up that it can be very difficult to come up with words of condolence. Sometime you find yourself not saying anything at all and that can be even worse than saying the wrong thing. It is hard to know just what to do. Poems for lost loved ones can be the perfect way to get across what you want to say. Poetry is one of the truest and most beautiful ways to say goodbye to someone who has passed away. For generations, families have used poetry to express their love, their sorrow and their hope. Whether you write a poem yourself or use the words of someone else, memorial poems are one of the best ways to show you care when grief or bereavement may make it difficult to express your heart.

One of my favorite poems is below, Footprints in the Sand. This poem was read at Ryan's funeral... We miss you Ryan! We think of you everyday throughout the year!

2010.... Happy New Year!

Ladies left to right: Crystal, Krischelle, Jackie, Kendra

2010 is here..... The girls were off track and in St George with Nanni and Papa. This was the first year we haven't had them so Mitch and I decided to hang out with some close friends! Jason and Jackie invited us to their New Years party, which was a "BLAST", Jackie you looked so beautiful as always! Loved the 2010 glasses and tiara's, you always make the party so festive! I got to see Crystal, JJ and Kendra which I absolutely love! We had a great time hanging out, catching up, talking about all the good times and excited about creating new ones in the new year....... Thank you guys for having us and throwing an awesome party!
Then we went to another one of our close friends. Vaughn and Ramea had a New Years Party! Lots of great food, drinks and great fun playing poker, beer pong, etc... We met some new friends of theirs that seemed very nice! I always love meeting new people., which one of them looked very similar to Nicholas Shay (no lie) You'll be able to make your own opinion in the last collage...............

Thanks Ramea for such a "Fabulous" time, I enjoyed hanging out with everyone!!! I feel very blessed to have such amazing friends in my life. I look foward to many more New Years together.
